What factors other than World War I, affected the people of Europe? Remember that may feelings and happenings were a result of World War I. an example would be the economic situation and the emtional reactions of the people who survived.

  1. Well, i'd have to say the productivity of weapon production. This did have to do with wwi but, it kinda had its own purpose to affecting the people. Reason why is, with countries needing more defense from eachother they needed more weapons, and weapons need people to build them, so their were more job oppurtunities. And the jobs were now not only for men (reason: Majority of men in war), women were now gaining more independence from the opposite sex, noticing the changes of womens' behavior. these were the good consequences of war, but bad, the death of many people lost in the war was a major and brutal affect.

    Yeah!! 1st comment... I think -_-

  3. I agree with Tangie and Ryan about the productivity of weapon having a big affect on the people. If we are allow to talk about after the war, then I think having all the new countries and new boarders would also have affected people.

  4. Totally Tangie ;P Everybody was feeling kind of confused (aka men) what with women finally showing off their independence. They didn't really know what to think besides feeling upset that their places were being taken just like that.

  5. I agree with Natasha, the new countries had an affect on Europe because they were as closely as possible divided by culture.
I think that the bad economy in most countries had an affect on the people because there was more money going towards reparations and weaponry than there was in circulation, so a lot of people didn't the have the money to support their family.

  6. I agree with Tangie and everyone else with the production of weapons and new job oppertunities for women.

But when the war was over and the men came back, the men got their jobs back and women were taken out of the factories once again. Men knew how to do the jobs better and were strong enough to handle the machinery that was used in the factories. Also, a lot of the factories had to close down. Because of the war, many of the factoris were producing war goods for the soldiers. Now that the war was over, the left over weapons were useless and nobody wanted to buy them. This made people lose jobs and were forced to find another place of work or the factory had to find something else to produce.

  7. Like Tangie said the production of weapons effect people greatly. One they had made these weapons that they no longer needed. then they had too much of them. Then women started to get laid off so that the men(at least the ones still sain) could come back.
ALL HAS BEEN SAID BY TANGIE THANKS ALOT!!!!!!

  8. I think the music had an effect of the people of europe. they listened to all kinds of music. One being the jazz that came from early blues by the african-americans.

  9. Well, Europe is seeing a new type of technology. They are starting to hear and even see their rulers. Radios started making an appearance. Back then, some people don't even know who their ruler is or maybe even how they sounded or looked. Now that they have radios and even movies,dictators/rulers used these technologies for propaganda. Because of this, rulers could now show that they are there for the people and do whatever they think is right for them.

  10. Bryson said

I think that all the debts and money that countries owed were a big effect because all the wages of people were lowered and people were getting laid off.

I agree with Tangie a lot, because the production of weapons made a lot of job opportunities and women were also getting jobs and gaining independence.

  11. Well since everyone else is hopping on the Tangie train i might as well too, the weapon production did make jobs come up, but when the war was over it put lots of people out of business too because there was no fighting so soldiers had no jobs...but other factors were the radio and movies because they let society see the politics and hear them (also entertained them with stories).

  12. I have to agree with tangie with jobs, with there being less job opportunities, there werent enough people making money for the country and like Bryson said, the debts continued to stack up so i think dept and unemployment were the greatest factors that affected the people of Europe after the War.

  13. I agree with everyone.

The families were also affected. After coming home from the war, the men's attitudes and their perspective towards life changed completely because they witnessed death.

  14. I think that the jobs mostly affected people. I believe this because no only did women gain more opportunities , but they also became more independent. However, this also affected men because they lost out on jobs that they would have had if they didn't go into World War.

I also agree with everyone who mentioned weapons.

  15. Advancements in technology were factors that effected the people of Europe. When the radio came out, a lot of changes were made. People could be aware simultaneously without too much rumor tainting the information. In my opinion, even one new invention progressed entire nations.

I agree with Tangie. She has the right idea about weaponry also being a factor. Any advances, which are inevitable occurences, affect the people.

  16. The factor that affected the people of Europe is, like some have said, the fact that women are having more power. Since the men are gone the women get to take their jobs and are able to do more for themself.

I agree with Trevor, the fact that there were radios and movies did affect the people as well. They were able to use this factor as a way to escape from reality.

  17. The factors that effected the people other then WW1 was the technology ariseing. Do to the great anxiety the people were faceing it really helped the people to have something to get their minds of stuff; For example, movies and radios. they helped bring entertanment to the people.

I also agree with Trevor. His comment supports mine.

  18. I agree with everyone who mentioned the production of weapons and the opening of new job opportunities for women.

I also think that one of the main factors that effected the people of Europe remembering what happend during the war and what happend to friends and family.

I also agree with those who mention the new forms of entertainment as a way of taking your mind off of things.

  19. i agree with tangie and amber, because during the war the women did have a major growth in independence they were starting to supply for themselves, and be depend on themselves; but after the war when the men came back they started to take over again and it had to effect the women mentally and emotionally, but it was something they had to deal with.

  20. i believe that the war greatly effected the use of production lines and the people working them because, like amber said, when the men all the women who were already independent had to give their jobs back up, which definitely took a toll on family life the war itself had greatly changed the males perspective on life which was good at all.

i also really agree with tangie about the fact that they made too many weapons and uniforms for the war which spent way too much money.

  21. I think that new technology affected people after ww1. The need for new things such as washers and radio worsened the economy. but there were movies which helped people escape the bad times and were also cheap. The radio will later help out leaders and dictators in europe.

  22. i agree with stephanie about the war changing the "perspective of life" especially with the wartime effort. Everything was going towards the war so the civilians are contributing to the war and when the soldiers come back they are out of place, probably with post traumatic stress disorder so it is safe to say that their new perspective on life would be negative.

as far as agreeing with everyone who agreed with everyone else..what more is there to say

  24. Sorry about the late reply my computer has been down but i believe what david said because when the radios and washing machines came out people couldn't really afford it because of the depression, so that just added on to the worsening of the economy for common people. But in a way it also help the people. People found another form of entertainment for themselves. Even though dictators started using it to broadcast worldwide, people had found a new, great product. As for the washing machine, people were just less dirty, and the women didn't have to do much work.

  25. becuase of the economy situation, and the general people being unfamiliar with how it worked, joined together in screwing over everyone. lots of people were gaining and losing jobs while at the same time there were many more jobs availiable, however, wages were lowered and prices on goods were raised, everyone was buying on credit, and geting loans and payment plans that were waaaaaaay to expensive to keep up, so all this, plus war debt expesialy to other countries was a major affect on people in those countries after the war.

  27. Late again- Haha
But, I think that the factor that affected the people the most was the role of women. With the men gone fighting, the women experienced an increase in power and freedoms. They were leaving their traditional roles behind and playing an important role in the development of the country outside of the war. I also agree with whoever said that the economny situation was a big factor, because money always affects everyone's lifestyles and it can really alter the way people act and think.

  28. I agree with the last comment about the women. The war helped to open doors for women. It gave them the chance to do things they wouldn't normally and I think it helped the women of Europe in the long run.

  29. i agree with tangie about the development of weapons and that the development of the new countries. i believe the development of new countries created countries that were thriving to gain land and make them self known as new countries while other countries were trying to regain control of them to better their own country.

  30. I agree with Tangie 100 percent because the production of weapons did have a greater impact on society due to the fact that the more weapons created in factories then the more workers that would be needed. This is also when women would have to step up and take over these jobs due to the notion that the men were in war and obviously could not do it themselves.

  31. The people in Europe faced hard challenges after WWI. They came back to no homes and sometimes no family. They had to start all over again.

  32. The people of Europe after WW1 had many changes for the people with the way the war was able to be communicated throughout the country. Jobs were lost, cities ruined, people living without a home to go to, and the fact the countries were in desperate need.

i agree with fatima and tangie because the weapons used caused more destruction and more innocent deaths. Technology was an important factore in the way people felt.

  33. Women found a new independece during WW1 because they had to step up and take care of their family.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with both Tangie and Amber women were now gaining independence from men.

The Economy after the war was horrible some people came back without homes, food, or even family. The new weapons that were made killed more innocent then guilty this made everyone sad and confused

i agree with everyone about the production of war materials and weapons, and also many more opportunities for women to get out into the working class and start earning there own money while the men and husbands were out fighting in the way

    ReplyDelete
  36. i think that the assembly lines created allowed more job opportunities and caused the nations to unite and support their own nation by promoting nationalism in a way. the opportunity women received also increased since they were able to participate in work labor and their importance also increased so whatever kind of depression they were in lessened significantly during the period

  37. I agree with the comments about debt, the role of women changing and the formation of new countries. Plus, the war was emotionally devastating. I dont think I need to go into great detail about that one...
